Doubt.

It has been far too long since I updated this blog.

My life has been going well.  I have been connected up with Village Baptist Church and have been enjoying being a part.  One of the areas of my involvement is on a sermon study group with the pastor.  It is fun to get to think theologically again.

A few weeks ago, John asked me if I would fill in for him while he was out of town.  I was thrilled.

The sermon had an autobiographical bent to it because it was the first introduction of me to the congregation.  The sermon is about doubt.

Here is the sermon.

Very pleased to read your thoughts again Derrick. As you said “it’s been far to long” and I agree. Hope to hear more from you in the future and maybe some coffee together, soon.
best wishes for you and yours.

Thank you and thanks to The Lord. It was good to hear you and so good to hear you are in a church.

I think betrayal is a harsh word to use to describe your firing. And even if it’s accurate, I don’t see how slandering one church will help build up another one.

Also, you look like Louis C.K.

    • Derrick says:

Mitch, You don’t know the half of it. It was not a church that betrayed me, but certain leaders in the church. I have a whole other blog that is private that was my journal through all of the crap that came at Singing Hills Christian Church. I assure you, it was betrayal.

Also, I am not as funny as Louis C.K. but think my uncanny resemblance to him should translate to royalties on his gigs.
