Spilled Wine?

Why Spilled Wine?

Jesus talked about the new wine breaking the old wine skins.  We all fight becoming an old wine skin.  When the new, living wine breaks out of the old wineskin, it spills.  The spilled wine is important stuff, but the stuff that put cracks in people like me.

I’ll have a better writeup later… 🙂

    Hi Derrick,
I actually found this site through your knife website. I saw in a recent KSF newsletter that you mentioned something about preaching at your church. So with the magic of google I found this site.

I’ve always been impressed by your KSF website. Not just that it’s a nice looking website, but I’ve been impressed with the passion with which you run your business. You have contributed to my fascination with quality knives (and been responsible with me parting with some cash.) Just through KSF it is easy to see you are sincere, honest, and love your family. You’re faith is being lived out in your business. So I guess I’m not surprised to find out that you are a follower of Christ as well (but maybe a little surprised to find out your are Dr. Derrick)

I see that you are preaching this Sunday. I pray that it goes well. I too am preaching at my church, but I’ll be doing it in Indonesian. I moved here with my wife and 2 young sons 2.5 years ago. We have been learning Indonesian during this time, and in the past several months I have finally become fluent enough to start preaching. Eventually, we plan to move to one of the many unreached tribal groups in this country and begin the work of seeing them come to know Christ. Anyway, I pray your sermon goes well.

I hope your move to Michigan goes well. I am a little disappointed because in December we come home on furlough. My wife is from Washington and I was hoping to stop by your store. Can’t do that now. Occasionally, I order a knife from KSF, have it sent to my parents and they will put it in a package and send it to me over here. Guess I’ll just have to keep doing that.

Anyway, sorry this is so long. I just felt like writing you and saying that I’ve been encouraged by your faith and how it affects your business. Any knife I buy, if you have it, I will buy it from you. I pray your sermon goes well and that your upcoming move goes well. I’m sure it will be a big adjustment for your family.

    May Christ be glorified,
    Greg
